Was good, then not so good …

Sigh! i’m upset tonite cos i didn’t get to go for my German class tonite.
i had arrange for my neighbour to watch Tobias (she has done it before) but she wasn’t home tonite – so i didn’t get to go. i’m not sure if she forgot (cos i told her quite early in the week) or did she have an emergency. Don’t know – will have to find out i guess.
i really wanted to go tonite cos we were deciding if we would stop while our teacher went on holiday or would we go on with the sub-teacher. Sigh – now have to call someone to find out. Plus i did do my homework & even some additional stuff which i would love to have corrected. Sigh!

Now for the good thing – Tobias did really well today at the Krippe – i left him there after breakfast & picked him up after lunch – they said he was really good & has even started to try & sing in German – they sing Grace & Good Morning & have a little song for brushing teeth. The only thing was that he didn’t say (speak out) when he needed the toilet – they saw the signs & took him. That’s something we still have to work on – even at home so…

Now i’ll veg out for a bit…

2nd trial day at daycare…

So yesterday was the 2nd trial day for Tobias at the Krippe. It went really well – i left him there after watching him have breakfast & came back just before lunch time – he did very well according to the gals there – didn’t cry – just played with the toys & other kids. He was enjoying an apple when i returned & he didn’t run to greet me (which was a little sad for mummy but…).
So the final paperwork has been settled & we’ll start officially on Monday (2nd Oct). i’ll probably watch him have breakfast again & then leave him there it is time to pick him up after lunch.

Today we went to the Herbst Solothurn (HESO) – a autumn fair/exhibition type thingy even year at the end of Sept. Tobias enjoyed himself petting the animals at the Petting Zoo – thot one of the calf knocked him over – he is fine. Then we rode the train & merry-go-round – he won’t ride by himself so i went with him (it was nice that there was no charge for the mummy). i really didn’t like the merry-go-round too much – went round too fast i felt. Or maybe i’ve just not been on one for so very long. Walked round to see the 8x halls of exhibits & then it was the playground for a bit & then home.

It has been a good day.

1st trial morning at daycare

Today was Tobias’ 1st trial day at daycare. i was there with him the whole time. It was good – it gave me an idea of what he would be involved in while there. Tobias enjoyed it greatly. So in a sense i’m relived – in another sense, i worry more now – sigh! the conflicting emotions of being a mum. i’m confident that the care is good but worry that he’ll not be able to express what he needs to the gals/ladies there (eg go peepee – he is the only 2yr old who is toilet-trained).
There were only a handful of kids when we got there in the morning – there was also another mum there with her 2x kids, also on their 1st trial day – her son, Jonas, is only 1x month younger than Tobias. Her little gal (i can’t remember her name) is only 6x months. But she is going back to work 1x day a week so they’ll have to come to daycare (which by the way is known as the Kinderkrippe or Krippe for short). The really interesting thing is that while talking with this other mum, Karin, we found out that her husband’s good friend works with Walter – talking about connecting people – hhehehehhee 😉
The kids then have breakfast & after that a time of singing (this is the structured time for the morning). They sang in Swiss so Tobias wasn’t too interested as he didn’t quite understand. Besides, he was too distracted with all the toys around. The kids then get free playtime. Then it was lunch – a simple fare of soup, salad & apple cake.
Tobias really took to the Curry Cream soup they served today – he also took to the Curry Noodles at yesterday’s Sunday Lunch at church.
Well, that’s the excitement for today.

Walter is home for a few days – but he goes off again to US on Wednesday & this time for 2x weeks – sigh!
