Having a Whole Heart…

If you have read my posts over the last few Tuesdays and Wednesdays (when i am late in publishing my Teamwork Tuesday posts), you would know that i have a CHD (Congenital Heart Defect)… i have a VSD (Ventricular Spital Defect). i always tell people i have a leaky heart, my heart isn’t whole; it has a hole (very poor pun is fully intended).

Colby is a cutie who needs a family today!

Colby‘s heart isn’t whole either. He has Patent Ductus Arteriosu, a heart defect in which the fetal blood vessel connecting the aorta and the pulmonary artery does not close during birth. It can lead to all sorts of complications later in life, including CHF (Congestive Heart Failure) and pulmonary hypertension. Colby is fortunate that his condition hasn’t impacted his life in a big way yet.

When it does, i pray and hope that he will have a loving family to support him. Colby is an orphan and he also has Down Syndrome. He needs a mummy and a daddy to love him, just as he is. He needs a brother and sister to hold his hand and show him about the fun things in life.

Colby is an active boy who smiles often and loves to dance. He also enjoys games and cartoons. But he has nothing in his adoption grant; zero in his grant. Would you help change that? Would you put in a little something so that a lack of funds would not be a reason he does not have  a family? Click on his name or picture to go to his profile page to contribute.

Maybe YOU are his Forever Family?  Find out more by contacting Reece’s Rainbow.

You can also pray for him; pray for his condition to hold stable, pray for his daily needs and most of all, pray that his forever family come for him real soon.

Thank you.

Day 13: Copeland for the Buhman Family… Forty to Forever…

Copeland’s story is like a little fairytale in itself. When he was added to the Forty to Forever campaign, he had no family and then just weeks before the start of the campaign, his forever family found him! Today we are rallying around the Buhman family to help them bring Copeland home. Please contribute generously. Thank you.
Today’s Lent devotion looks at humility in fasting. It cautions us against prideful fasting. Have a read and think about it… syc

Our Goal is to raise $500 for Copeland and Lina… $373 to go!

CopelandI love happy endings!  And today is no exception.  When I first assigned Copeland to our campaign, he was an orphan… he had no mommy or daddy.  He was all alone in the world, with just a small handful of advocates and prayer warriors that might give a glimmer of hope.  He is such a precious boy, with a lifetime of potential.  But without a family, his life’s prognosis was short and bleak.  I expected to have to write a different story for this sweet boy… one pleading for you to share his picture in hopes that his family would see him and know.

Instead, I have the great honor of introducing you to that very family.  Meet Darrel and Haley Buhman.  The delightful people who committed to Copeland just weeks before our campaign started.  I…

Day 12: Aiden for the Killen Family… Forty to Forever…

Today at Forty to Forever we are working to help the Killen family bring sweet Aiden home! Aiden needs to come home and learn that there are people in this world who truly love him, just as he is and the Killen family truly does love him, just as he is; even before he is home, they love him already. Please help them reach Aiden by contributing to their adoption funds.
Today’s Lent devotion is one of my favourite yet… it’s all about looking for God… or more like, NOT looking for God… because God is right there, right where He has placed us in our lives… right here with me as i type this, right there with you as you read this… my favourite line from today’s devotion… “God has prepared these things for you to do, and that in itself makes it a holy and good thing. God is here with you, in the works He has given you… (regardless of how small an impact you might think your work has…)”… syc

Our Goal is to raise $500 for Aiden and Lina… $354 to go!

AidenHello! We are Katherine and Asa Killen. We have been married for six years and have two gorgeous little girls ( Zoe, 4 and Piper, 19 months). God has blessed us beyond belief. I feel so incredibly honored to have married my best friend and to have been given our two precious little angels. Now, I am not the best writer so you will have to bear with me as I share our story. I will try to speak as candidly as possible in the hopes of conveying the pure emotion and Godly platform in which this adoption has come to be.

This past summer I felt God laying adoption on my heart. It was like a persistent knocking and a need that I couldn’t describe, not even to my husband. I ignored the knocking; thinking, “No…
