Orphan of the Month for May and June… Angel Crafts Shop…

i am sad to report that there have been no sales in the months of March and April so my Orphan of the Month for those 2 months, TIMON, did not get anything added to his adoption grant. However, i am happy to say that Reece’s Rainbow, where his grant is being held, has just changed their grant policy with regards to older children (10 and above), which means TIMON is now eligible for a US$10,000 grant once a family commits to him and is successful in their application for a FSP (Family Sponorship Page). So that’s great news for TIMON. Please continue to pray for TIMON and for a family for him. Please also continue to share his need for a loving family. Thank you.

Now onto the Orphan of the Month for May and June!

Meet DENNY!

He is such a sweetheart! He has hydrocephalus but his mental development is normal as is his gross and fine motor skills. However, his language skills are not quite up to par with his peers. He can understand all directions from adults and can express himself well through words and body language. He is a caring boy who is curious and helpful. He gets along well with other children and has a good memory.

DENNY sounds like a wonderful little boy who simply needs a caring family to show him the way forwards. He will be 10 in August and that puts him in the older boy category in adoption terms, coupled with his medical condition, that is considered 3 strikes against him getting adopted within his home country. So an international adoption may be the way for him to have a family.

His adoption grant with Reece’s Rainbow at the moment is at zero! i am asking for your help to help change that; to zero the zero, as some adoption advocates like to say.

For the months of May and June, when you shop at Angel Crafts Shop, 50% of all sales will go to DENNY‘s adoption grant. So come and start shopping and grow DENNY‘s adoption grant!

You can also share DENNY‘s need for a family and pray for him as well. Click on DENNY‘s name or picture to go to his profile page.

Thank you very much.

21 Days of Hope – Reece’s Rainbow…

i had every intention of writing this post last week but got caught out with work and didn’t get round to it. And i am sorry.

Reece’s Rainbow is a wonderful non-profit organisation, run by volunteers, which provide a voice for special needs orphans who are unable to speak for themselves. They champion the needs of these precious children, especially their need for a caring family to love these kids just as they are, to see these children for the wonderful people they could become if given the best opportunities.

In the 10 years Reece’s Rainbow has been in operation, they have highlighted the plight of many special needs orphans in countries which don’t have the infrastructure to support them, they have built awareness of the fact that some of these children live in terrible conditions, most of all they have helped over 2000 orphans find a family to call their own. They have helped adopting families by giving out over US$11.5 million to make their journey to bringing these kids home easier.

Every year from March 1st to 21st, they have a special fundraising drive to raise the money they need to continue their daily operations. Please remember that they are all volunteers and this amount of US$21,000 they raise is just for administration costs.

This year, they have fallen short of their daily US$1000 over 21 days target. Can you help them make it up? The work they do is so good and important, please help them. You can make a difference!

Click here to give and read more about the work they do. There’s just 3 more days to go in this campaign!

Thank you very much.

Orphan of the Month for March and April… Angel Crafts Shop…

Thank you all for your generosity and support. We have managed to grow Becky´s adoption grant by a little bit in the last couple of months.

So it is time to meet another new child – introducing Timon!

13-year-old Timon awaits a family to help him achieve everything he can.

This 13-year-old boy is certainly a fighter. He went from being dependent on others for most things to being independent when he first entered care. Then when carers noticed the usually active boy slowing down, he had to go in for emergency surgery for enlarged ventricles and tumour removal. But he recovered well. After which, he went in for a second surgery to put in an external shunt at the site of where the tumour was. He bounced back from all that and is able to read and write. Although his speech is slightly slurred, you can see that this young boy is truly remarkable. And he needs a family to see past his hydrocephalus and see the potential he has, see what he can achieve if given the supportive, loving encouraging environment only a family can give.

Timon´s hope for a family to call his own is likely outside of his home country because of deep-seated social prejudice against disabilities and orphans. All this means an expensive international adoption.

His adoption grant with Reece´s Rainbow is currently at zero. i would like to change that and also get the word out there that this precious boy needs a family.

Would you help me?

You can help by shopping at Angel Crafts Shop in the months  of March and April. 50% of all sales goes to his adoption grant. You can share Timon´s story on social media and you can pray for him.

Click on Timon´s name or picture to go to his profile page on Reece´s Rainbow.

Thank you.
