More Angels…

That’s right… there are more angels; more precious children who need our help to tell the world that they exist, they are orphans, they are waiting for their forever families… so today i’m going to introduce you to 3 of them.

Meet Tallulah.

This sweetheart needs your help to find a forever family.

She is a 4-year-old sweetie who is described as adorable, spunky and adventurous. She has been at the orphanage since she was 5 months old and has Down Syndrome with a heart condition that is reported as fixed. She is in need of a family to love her for the wonderful little gal she is and to help her live life to the fullest.

Now meet Sloan.

This active boy needs a family to care for him.

He is a 5-year-old who is very curious, expressive and loves to play ball. Doesn’t he sound like such a fun-loving boy? He is also in need of a forever family to love him and show him that life has so much more to offer him if he is given opportunities.

And meet Velia.

This 13-year-old needs to be loved for who she is.

She has a very sad story. She is in an institution where she receives almost no attention and the care is questionable at best. She has Down Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy. She is in desperate need of a caring family who will love on her, show her that she is so much more than a burden, give her the medical attention she needs. She is already 13 years old.

What can you do to help these orphans?

1) You can pray for them. Pray that their daily needs are met. Pray that a forever family will step forward for them.

2) You can also share their stories so more people can help to spread the word about them and their needs.

3) You can give to their adoption grants on Reece’s Rainbow. Simply click on their names to go to their profile page to donate. Remember, during this holiday period, if you give US$35, you will receive a lovely Christmas Ornament for your tree as a thank you. In case, you want to know why would they need a large grant, here’s why: these children are considered of no value in the societies they are born into. At best, they are considered a burden or sub-normal, a normal life isn’t possible for them in their countries. So a very expensive international adoption is their best option. Let’s not let money or lack of stand in the way of their families coming for them.

Thank you.

Join In…

i have joined up with a bunch of advocates and we have put up a huge online auction for our Christmas Angel Tree kiddos. My child is Jasper (Asia) – remember i introduced him about 10 days ago? Read here.

So what’s this auction about? It all about raising funds for these precious special needs orphans and about telling the world that they all need a loving family to care for them and help them through life.

Every advocate has posted items for the auction. Each item benefits a specific child. Participants simply have to bid on the items they would like to have and at the end (24th November) the highest bid gets the item and that amount goes to that specific kid’s adoption grant.

So i have posted 10 items on Adoption Auction’s Christmas Around the World album. i’m going to re-post those 10 items here so you will know at once which items will benefit my sweet Jasper. Of course, you can bid for any other items too. They all benefit a child in need so it’s all win-win.

Please hop over to this page and make a bid.

If you don’t have FB and would still like to make a bid, let me know (comment below) and i’ll ask the organisers if it is possible for me to place a bid on your behalf with your email address.

Or if you would like to simply contribute directly to Jasper‘s adoption grant, please click on his name and use the donate button on his profile page on Reece’s Rainbow. Remember if you give US$35, you get a lovely Christmas ornament with Jasper’s picture on it as a thank you.

So bid away! And do share this post with your friends. Thanks.

It Has Started…

itshere2013… Christmas Angel Tree 2013!

This is my first year as an official Angel Tree (AT) Warrior!

What is Angel Tree? Well, it is a huge Christmas season awareness building and fundraising campaign which Reece’s Rainbow runs to show the world the precious children they (we) advocate for. These are special needs orphans who desperately need to know the love of a forever family.

Angel Tree runs from TODAY, 1st November till 31st December and the goal of each warrior is to shout out loud for the child they have picked or have been assigned and to raise US$1000 for that child! More details about the program itself here. Click here to see all the children on the list this year.

You can also purchase Angel Tree Dollars to give to family and friends as gifts and they can in turn do their part by picking a child from the above list to give to. This is a wonderful way to teach your kids about giving to those who have so much less than them. See details for Angel Tree Dollars here.

NOW here come the part i want FULL ATTENTION!!

Introducing my AT Child! JASPER!

Jasper, 12 years old, needs a loving family to care for him.
Jasper, 12 years old, needs a loving family to care for him.

He is such a sweetheart! This dear boy has such a sad sad past. He did know his family, he lived with them till they abandoned him at 8 years old!! Can you imagine the hurt he must have felt?! i can’t. My heart cries that he had to experience such pain. And why did his family leave him? Most likely because of his medical issues; maybe they could not afford to help him, maybe they thought he was a burden (we would never know) – he has Down Syndrome, un-descended testis and dental issues.

These medical issues would be no problem to a loving family who understood that he is not cursed, he is not sub-normal, he simply needs good medical care. But in his home country he would be ostracised! An outcast his entire life and likely never ever accepted into society.

So i am going to shout out loud for him! For a caring family to step up for him and love him just as he is! Because every child deserves to be loved and valued for who they are and not cast aside because they have treatable, manageable medical needs.

Please join me in helping more and more people learn about Jasper’s story. Please also give generously towards his adoption grant set up by Reece’s Rainbow here. Or click on his name / picture. Since his chances of being accepted in his home country is so low, a very expensive international adoption is his best chance at a forever family. So whatever head start we can give to encourage his future family would be a good thing.

You can also help by praying for Jasper, praying that he is well taken care of where he is now and that a forever family can be found for him during this Christmas Campaign.

i am preparing a special fundraiser to start in 2 weeks. So stay tuned!

Thank you very much.
