So after a happy birthday party, we all fell ill – Walter had the cold (he’s now recovered almost completely), Tobias – fever, bad cough & now blocked nose, me – bad sore throat & now slight cough. So we’ve all been down for almost a week now.
Here’s a pic of Tobias, lying really still on the cough, watching Japanese Anime:

The weather has been cold & raining (i really don’t know what the weather is coming too – below 10 at the end of May!!) – can’t wait for summer to get here in all it’s glorious sunshine & warmth!

On 25 May (Ascension Day – public holiday), we went to a zoo near us – (yes, even thot we were sick – well, Tobias had no more fever & didn’t have as bad a cough so…). It was an overcast day but at least no rain & a little above 12 degrees so we went. It’s called Siky Ranch Zoo – a 15min train ride from our place. It is reputed to have the only white tigers in Switzerland! The tigers were lovely to see as were the other animals. Even though the enclosures were quite large (not all were large) i still feel that there are other zoos which are better but of cos this is a small family-run place so… We had a lovely morning anyhow.

So that’s it for now – have to go prepare stuff for dinner – i’m trying out a new recipe tonight.

So Tobias is now officially 2 years old!! WoW! Still can’t believe we’ve had him for 2 year now! Time flies!! There are times i look at him & wished that he was a baby again but then there are times when i look at him & think he’s prefect just the way he is now – sigh!

So what did we do for his birthday? This year it was a small affair with just a close friend from church, Narinda & her 2 little gals, together with his Godparents (the ones in Switzerland) Ian & Jill. It was a no stress party for mummy & daddy in terms of preparations so that was great! We had a simple meal of Greek Salad & Spaghetti & of cos the world’s cutest birthday cake, made proudly by Jill!

So it’s time again for the stats update.
We went to the Mutterberatung on Friday so here’s what was recorded this time:
Tobias, at 23months 22days, measured 90cm tall, weighed 13.7kg & is in the 75% for his age in terms of height & weight.

Everyone has been telling us that we must remember to measure at 2years so we would know his final height – it’s supposed to be (Height at 2years X 2 = Final Height). So this makes Tobi’s final height at 180cm – we’ll have to wait another 16years at least to find out if this is true – so stay tuned 😉

i think that Tobias has ingrowing toenails – it runs on my side of the family, both myself & my bro have it. Tobi hates to get his toenails trimmed, he cries. He’s really good about the fingernails – he’ll put his hand out & watch me trim them. But toenails!! no way!!! He now has a little hard patch of skin just below the corner of the right side of his left big toe – it seems to be growing (has been there for a couple of weeks now). The nurse said we should keep an eye on it, if it gets painful or red or grows fast, we need to go to the doc – otherwise she thinks it might go away on its own – she has no idea what it is exactly – mainly cos Tobi refused to let her have a good look & she didn’t want him crying so didn’t force the issue. Let’s pray that all is well & trimming his toenails will get easier.
