It was the UN International Day of the Girl Child (IDGC) on October 11th; a day designated for promoting the rights of girls and addressing the unique challenges they face.
This is the 3rd year of IDGC and this year´s theme is “Empowering adolescent girls: Ending the cycle of violence”.
Why is this an important event? Because even though we live in the 21st century, a time where all peoples are supposed to be free, many are not free at all. Way too many are girls who are trapped and voiceless.
