Wow! It has been a year and this is our 10th post in our series highlighting families adopting from Asia. It has been one of the most wonderful, heartbreaking, nerve-wrecking, miracle-witnessing year i have seen to date. And i’m sure the next year will hold even more moments of joy and tears and even more prayers and seeing more children home with their forever families.

i want to thank you all for your continued support of these posts and our amazing families who have stepped up to give loving homes to special needs orphans who would otherwise be passed over and left to age out of their adoption system with little hope of a bright future. Please do continue to give your support (financially, emotionally, in prayers, in sharing their stories) to these families as they can not travel this journey on their own and every bit of help is much appreciated! Thank you again.

Families who are HOME:

The Garrick Family is home with Julianna. Keep up with them here.

The Phelps Family is home with Emma Claire. You can read more here.

The Gilbert Phillips Family is home with Winnie. Read about their journey home here.

The Steinhoff Family is home with Carrington and Peyton. Catch up with them here.

The Evans Family is home with Meilin. For reasons they can not state, they were only able to bring home one child. Read more here.

Families still on their adoption journey:

The Murdoch Family is waiting on Travel Approval (TA). Do pray that they will receive this quickly and be able to travel before or during Christmas as apparently airfares in the first week of January are insane! The Fraley Family has filed for I800a and will be applying for Visas this week. They have lots of fundraisers going on and have gathered them all on this FB page. Please check it out and help them with this unexpected increase in costs. You can contribute to their adoption grant here. You can follow their journey here.

The Collins Family is not new to special needs or adoptions, they have a full house but have opened their hearts and home again for a precious little boy called Caleb. They are just at the start of the process, doing their homestudy. Any help and encouragement you can give them would be most wonderful. You can contribute to their adoption grant here.

The Anderson Family has long had a heart for orphans and had started a journey to adopt from an Eastern European country but the adoption was denied because of a medical condition. Then God placed Daniel, an 11-year-old boy with left side paralysis, in their path and they said yes. Not only to Daniel but also to another little boy. So they are working on their homestudy and getting pre-approval for the second boy. You can contribute to their adoption funds here. You can follow their journey here. UPDATE: 10 Dec: They have just sent off the pre-approval pack. Please pray for good news. Thank you.

The Stickley Family is bringing home Jada who ages out of the adoption system in her home country in February 2014. They have USCIS approval and need to reach her in about 9 weeks. Because this is an expedited process they have had very little time to raise funds, please do HELP them. You can give to their adoption grant here. You can follow their journey here. UPDATE: 3 Dec: They have an Online Auction running here. Please have a look – there are some lovely items. Make a bid and help them bring her home. 14 Dec: Their auction brought in a good amount of funds but they are still a long way from funded and time is running short. Please help and give here.

The Smith Family (a different one) has had their hearts broken with a failed Russian adoption (no fault of theirs). But they have answered the call to bring Barry home. They are now getting their homestudy together and appreciate any support; in prayers and funds. You can contribute to their adoption grant here.

The Casebier Family is adopting 2 little ones but are not able to show photos or disclose their names or country until they have LOA. They have requested for certain waivers which are now in question. They ask for prayers to pass this hurdle and have peace in their hearts. Thank you.

The Maples Family is most definitely not new to adoption, from the get-go they have been all about adoption. This will be their 6th adoption and they will be bringing home Callie (Coral). They have their dossier completed but their agency will not send it for authentication until they are paid. So they have to raise US$2448 (at time of writing) by Monday, 1st December! Please give to their YouCaring fund so they can have immediate access to it. For other upcoming expenses, you can give to their adoption grant here. You can follow their journey here. (Blog to be updated soon.) UPDATE: this just came in minutes before i hit publish – their agency has messed up their paperwork and the embassy might reject it all. Please please pray that if the agency hand-delivers that it will be accepted! 3 Dec: They now require a new birth certificate for one parent. Please pray for no more paperwork delays and for funds to come in so that they can send their dossier to country. They still need US$1729. Give here. 9 Dec: They have had a very generous donation! Praise the Lord! And now they need another US$170 to meet that fee! Give here. 14 Dec: They have met their immediate fees. Now to raise funds to be fully funded – another US$9000. Give here.

5 families home! 10 new families! 22 families needing your help, support and prayers. We have not had that many listed before. So give generously in all aspects. Thank You.

  1. Moving Mountains for Marlee’s Miracle is the title of our blog. Received preapproval for “Linny” in 12/24/2013. Waiting for finalized home study and raising funds for I800A application. Praying hard for financial favor. We are reusing our dossier from our adoption of our first daughter (5th child) on 2/202013.
