This is my first post to highlight 2 orphans from the Older Child Grant (Other Angels) on Reece’s Rainbow. i was scrolling through the very long list and i keep thinking, “Oh this child. Oh, this one too. What about him? Or her? …” There are just SO MANY children who are in need of loving families… sometimes it seems overwhelming…
BUT i am reminded of the Starfish Story… where the final line says, “But it made a difference to this one…”
So one at a time, i will try my best to shout out for these precious children.
Now let’s meet DEAN!
My boy and i have been praying for DEAN for a couple of years now. We pray each night for a family to come for him. And now he is so near to aging out… he has just another year before he is no longer adoptable under the laws of his home country.
DEAN has lived at the institute since he was 5 years old. He is now 13. He has mental delays but now has self-management skills, including toileting and gets along well with others. He can do simple chores as well. He is shy and i believe would really bloom with the care of a loving family. He has been waiting so very long already. Please see him for the wonderful boy he is and the amazing boy he can become.
Now meet ELIJAH!
Like DEAN, ELIJAH was also left at the institute when he was 5 years old. He is 13 years old now. 8 years ago, when he was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, he was unable to walk. Through his own sheer determination, he can now walk slowly holding onto handrails. He is strong-willed, obedient and sensible. The staff at the institute adores him and hopes he get a wonderful family really soon. i know he would just thrive surrounded by a family he can call his own.
Both DEAN and ELIJAH age out in 2017. ELIJAH has only till June 2017 and DEAN till September 2017. They need families to step forward for them NOW!
Life would be very difficult for them in their home countries as adults with diabilities and there exist still a certain amount of social prejudice, which is not in their favour at all. Their hope of a full life is outside of their country. So an expensive international adoption would be the option.
Please HELP DEAN and ELIJAH by first of all, PRAYING for them. Praying for loving families to see them and step up for them. Second, SHARE their stories so more will know and more can help. Thirdly, you can help by SHOPPING at Angel Crafts Shop, where 50% of all sales goes to the group funds for them.Â
DEAN and ELIJAH are eligible for a US$10,000 grant from Reece’s Rainbow, under their Older Child (Other Angels) Grant. Please click here for details of that grant.
Please click on DEAN‘s and ELIJAH‘s name and pictures to read more about them.
Thank you very much.
