In keeping with the new year theme, i would like to show off some new growth. Despite the cold wintery weather outside, there is green growth happening inside. My orchid plant, which was a gift from my first batch of playgroup kids, is finally flowering again, after a couple of years of nothing.
So fingers crossed, hopefully, the flowers do bloom! Here are a couple of photos of the buds:
Yes, it’s a question mark. 4 weeks ago, i wrote excitedly about how well the pumpkins were doing. Then last week i realised that they had stopped growing and the plants were dying. So i don’t think there will be a pumpkin harvest. You can see for yourself in these rather sad pictures:
So the pumpkin plants did make it through and have fruit now! Thank God! i have also harvested the pears – they were yummy. But we lost more than half to wind, birds and insects. Still it was much better harvest than last year! Here are some photos for you to enjoy 😉
Lovely Pumpkin Flower.
i estimate about 50 or more pears!
Maybe Pumpkin 4?
