Tripping Along

This blog started life as ‘Wir sind Ausländern!! – regarding the misadventures of a Singaporean family in Switzerland’. That was January 2006. It was a way of keeping family and friends back home updated with our happenings. Our happenings include Daddy, Mummy & Baby, finding their way around in a different country where they did not yet speak the language.

Now as we enter 2012, this blog remains a way to keep relatives and loved ones updated but it has grown to be a bit more than that. And we hope it will continue to grow as we continue to explore life in Switzerland and life itself.

Living in a different country is something both Daddy & Mummy have done before and greatly enjoyed. However, living in an unfamiliar culture as a family has certainly highlighted how different an experience it has been. It has also showed us how our differences can be both strengths and hindrances.

Being a part of the blogging world has also illuminated how people are so different and have different viewpoints. People are individuals and unalike from each other; this is, of course, a given. But blogging has brought it into sharp relief. It has most definitely been inspiring and helpful. We hope to return the favour and humbly wish to give our input into blogosphere.

So this will include some of our favourite things – photography, writing/reading, food and crafts. It will also include daily stuff such as the everyday incidents, school and the lovely scenery we see each day. Hopefully meaningful issues relating to family, education, interesting thoughts, faith (ours being Christian)  and being different (closest to heart) will be featured too.
